The club occasionally organizes trips and tours of other organizations that share our interests such as the Fruit and Spice Park, nurseries, agricultural research facilities, etc.
More than 500 varieties of exotic fruits, herbs, spices and nuts from around the world; 180 varieties of mangos; 70 varieties of bamboo; 40 varieties of bananas; 15 varieties of jackfruit trees and numerous other exotic edibles are grown and maintained here.
Walking the grounds will introduce you to a large variety of tropical plants and their amazing array of sizes, shapes and colors. The Garden includes many collections and exhibits as well as native habitats brought together in a unified landscape design that flows from one area to another.
The research mission of UF/IFAS, conducted under the auspices of the Florida Agricultural Experiment Station (FAES), is to discover new scientific knowledge, encourage innovative study and create applications based on sound science that address challenges facing agriculture, natural resources, and interrelated human systems in Florida, our country, and the world.
